Homeopathy, A Natural Approach To Health

Homeopathy
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a natural system of medicine that has been used in many countries for over 200 years. It was discovered by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician, who subsequently dedicated his life to developing and refining this potent and elegant healing art. The word homeopathy stems from two Greek words "homois" (similar) and "pathos" (suffering) meaning “like cures like”, which constitutes the core principle of this system of medicine. Indeed, Hahnemann had discovered that a substance which, in a healthy person, can produce symptoms similar to the symptoms of a particular disease can also cure that disease in a sick person. For example, a homeopathic remedy made from onion is an effective remedy for the treatment of acute symptoms of hay fever such as stingy, watery eyes and sneezing. Homeopathic medicines are prepared from naturally occurring substances and help us to address the root cause of symptoms in order to overcome disease by stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities. Homeopathic remedies are prepared in homeopathic pharmacies from natural substances through a series of dilutions and vigorous shaking called succussions. Through this process the healing properties of the substance are preserved whilst potentially toxic effects that could be present in its crude form are eliminated, thus rendering it safe and deep-acting for the treatment of both chronic disease and acute symptoms.
